17/03/2022 @ 13:30 - 16:30
On Thursday 17 March, the results of the Pilotproject Provenance Research on Objects of the Colonial Era (PPROCE) will be presented. The project was led by the NIOD Expert Centre Restitution, and carried out in cooperation with the Rijksmuseum and the National Museum of World Cultures. The presentation will start at 1.30PM and end approximately 16.30PM (CET).
The objective of PPROCE was to develop a methodology for research on the provenance of collections with a colonial context. During the presentation, the researchers will present the results of their case studies about selected Indonesian and Sri Lankan collections, and their recommendations for doing provenance research on colonial collections.
The project has been made possible by funding from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Among the speakers is Marieke Bloembergen (KITLV/ Leiden University).
