Hoogenboom, MA. Ireen
Ireen Hoogenboom is coordinator joint research Indonesia and since 2023 project leader of the audiovisual documentation project ‘Recording the Future’.
Ireen obtained her Master’s degree in Languages and Cultures of Southeast Asia and Oceania from Leiden University in 2002. Before she worked as a project manager for Asian Studies in Amsterdam (ASiA) and as an editor for KITLV Press and BKI (Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Southeast Asia and Oceania). As from 2012, she has been working on several research projects on the Indonesian war of independence. She contributed to both the Dutch and Indonesian edition of Soldaat in Indonesië 1945-1950 (Gert Oostindie, Prometheus 2015 and Obor 2016).
From 2016-2023 she worked as coordinator of the collaboration with the Indonesian research team within the NIOD-NIMH-KITLV research programme ‘Independence, Decolonization, Violence and War in Indonesia 1945-1950’ and was co-editor of Revolutionary Worlds (AUP, 2023)/ Dunia Revolusi (Obor, 2023) and Onze Revolutie (AUP, 2023).
