01 Nov Vacancy: Postdoc position ‘Exploring Indian influences in Javanese civilization’
KITLV currently has a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher to help with the proof-reading of a book manuscript, scheduled for publication in the summer of 2023.
TeamJava Maryland is finalizing a book project tentatively titled Exploring Indian Influences in Javanese Civilization: Art, Architecture, and Literature, scheduled for publication in the summer of 2023. To assist the team with the academic proofreading of this manuscript, we seek a post-doctorate level expert with a proven expertise in Old Javanese culture (in the broadest sense of the word), a sharp eye for details, and a collaborative attitude. As you’re making the finishing touch, you have a very responsible position.
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who can help with the academic proof-reading and technical fact-checking of the book manuscript. This includes the entire text (ca. 600 pages), the preface, footnotes, visual material, and picture captions, with special attention to the accuracy of the citations, the incorporation of relevant literature and academic discussions, and the creation of a comprehensive bibliography. You are expected to inform and update the other team members at regular intervals. It’s also very important that you protect the proprietary nature of the project by not disseminating its findings until written permission to do so is given.
Deadline: 10 November 2022.
